In observance of the upcoming World Food Safety Day we wanted to share a message from our Global Food and Retail Director, David Horlock
Food Safety is a prerequisite for food security and health. If it’s not safe then it’s not food, and if it’s not food, there is no food security. Together with our stakeholders, BSI work to help convene in the creation and harmonization of global standards which are free and available to all. At the heart of our food communities is the desire to ensure food is safe, sustainable and socially responsible.
Let’s all celebrate World Food Safety Day.
The food of the future: the role of standards in sustainable, nutritious diets
We asked three leading experts from across the agrifood sector for their insights into the future of food, predictions for the next 50 years and vision of a truly sustainable food chain - and how can standards help us get there?
Both the pandemic and the independent National Food Strategy (The Plan, published in July 2021 by Henry Dimbleby) have raised concerns about the food we eat and population health. Now is the time to consider how we address food systems in future to enhance nutrition, ensure sustainability and protect security of supply chains.
