Global Director, Built Environment, BSI 

With over 23 years of experience, Rahul has worked with asset owners, main contractors, architects, engineers and manufacturers. He has gained experience of leading various innovation and digital initiatives on a diverse range of projects, including large scale multi-billion-pound urban regeneration schemes through to hospitals, airports, residential, commercial etc. He has gained thorough understanding of the risks and opportunities faced by today’s global construction businesses. In his current role at BSI, he supports clients across EMEA in sustainability, digital, safety, quality, and supply chain.

 

 

Matthew Mapp
Associate Director, SWECO

Matthew is an Associate Director at Sweco in the UK, one of Europe’s leading multidisciplinary building engineering and design consultancies. Matthew built and leads Sweco’s whole life carbon (WLC) service for buildings in the UK, delivering over 40 RICS-method WLC assessments across a large range of different building typologies. He operates as quality assurance on WLC for major clients such as British Land, as well as being regularly employed by the City of London to quality assure planning applications in respect of WLC submissions and optioneering. Matthew is also involved in many industry working groups (such as UKGBC embodied carbon workstreams) and was directly involved in Sweco’s recent successful certification under PAS:2080, utilising Sweco’s buildings portfolio to demonstrate compliance against the updated standard.

 
 

Maria Fernandez Cachafeiro
Head of Sustainability, Multiplex

Maria has over 10 years of experience driving sustainability within the built environment, in the UK and abroad. In her current role, María is responsible for all aspects of environmental and social sustainability, including delivery of the 2030 strategies: One Decade to Act, Multiplex’s roadmap to decarbonization, and ‘Leave no one behind’, our social equity strategy. María is also a member of the World Green Building Council’s Corporate Advisory Board.

 

Dr Katherine Ibbotson
Director Transformation Advisory, WSP

With over 20 years’ experience in the industry, leading Net Zero carbon reduction strategies and sustainable change services within the infrastructure, Kat’s leadership and experience are in taking a holistic approach to complex systems, bridging the gap between policy and embedding practical action.  Facilitating and enabling the connections across sectors and technical disciplines. Having worked within the Public Sector for over 17 years, Kat has supported clients across several sectors, delivering a variety of services from: Infrastructure Resilience and Net Zero transformation, to people and process change at an asset, network, and system level.  Ensuring whole life carbon management, assurance, continuous improvement, and review are driving an evidence-based approach to influence and shape future policy. Kat’s experience is supported by a broad skill set in program, project management, and commercial services.
