The EN 397:2025 standard updates industrial safety helmet requirements, replacing the 2012 version with key changes like introducing Type 1 (traditional top impact) and Type 2 (enhanced side/rear impact) helmets, harmonizing with climbing standards (EN 12492) for height work, and adding requirements for accessory compatibility, ergonomics, and optional features like electrostatic discharge and enhanced visibility, while moving electrical testing to EN 50365:2023, requiring risk assessments for new helmet selection.
