The first international standard for Occupational Health & Safety, ISO 45001, is published.

Download the materials described below to start your journey to implementation of the new standard, which was published on March 12, 2018.

A key benefit of the new standard is that it follows Annex SL and the high level structure (HLS), which will enable you to align your OH&S management system with other ISO management systems your organization has in place. This will help streamline processes and deliver efficiencies, saving time and money.

All organizations currently certified to OHSAS 18001 will be required to migrate to ISO 45001 within 3 years of that date.

Why ISO 45001?
  • No globally recognized standard for OH&S
  • Worldwide need to harmonize health & safety management systems
  • The need to provide safe and healthy working conditions
  • Reflect increasingly complex organizational environments
  • Allow integration with other ISO management system standards
