Globally cybercrime was the second most reported crime in 2016. By 2021, the cost of cybercrime is expected to breach $6 trillion.

4 in 10 businesses suffered a cyber security breach in 2018. With organizations in the food and hospitality sector suffering much worse on average.

Research has shown the food sector lagging behind in areas of cyber security awareness at a board level, with cyber security investment and training staff in cyber skills amongst the lowest of all industries.

Food sector companies spend 86%* less on average than transport and storage companies, 89%* less than in education, and a huge 4928%* less on than companies in the financial sector. 

Thomas Harrison, Commercial Engagement Manager at BSI, will talk you through some key steps to maintaining cyber security, highlighted by the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre.
