SEC Proposed Climate-Related Disclosures

It’s expected that the US Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) will soon require public companies to disclose climate-related risks and GHG emissions. They have released this fact sheet on the proposed ruling that would require a domestic or foreign registrant to include certain climate-related information in its registration statements and periodic reports, such as on Form 10-K. There will also likely be a trickle-down effect on privately-held companies who are their suppliers. The rule would require both reporting of GHG emissions and on how climate disruption may impact company operations in the future.

A Case Study in Sustainable Development
