Use ISO 22301:2019 to build business resilience
Averaging across industries, companies can now expect supply chain disruptions lasting a month or longer to occur every 3.7 years, and the most severe events take a major financial toll (McKinsey & Company, August 6, 2020). ISO 22301 specifies management system requirements to help you increase your business resilience. It lays out the requirements to implement, maintain and improve a management system to help your organization recover from disruptions when they arise.
A well-designed business continuity system can reduce the negative impacts of interruptions through preparation for the occurrence of and response to disruptions. The key is preparation, detecting vulnerabilities and creating a more resilient organization, in terms of interactions with local and global conditions. That’s how a business continuity management systems (BCMS) fits into your future.
During this educational webinar, you will learn:
- What does a BCMS look like?
- The structure of ISO 22301 integrates perfectly with other Harmonized Standards
- The requirements, if properly implemented, will help keep you from being caught off guard in the event of a disruption
- Audits (Internal and External) help you find ways to improve the effectiveness of you system for better protection through continual improvement
- What are the benefits of a BCMS?
- A BCMS can help you to continue to deliver products and services during a disruptive event
- You’ll be able to recover more quickly by using your business continuity strategies and solutions
- By completing a ‘business impact analysis and risk assessment’, you’ll be able to develop strategies and solutions that will increase your business resilience
- What does ‘business resilience’ look like?
- Resilience includes strategic objectives and guiding principles implemented for the BCMS as a whole, fueled by Management
- It is based on business continuity needs, determines how to address them and develops procedures to manage the organization during a shock
- It will help you identify and prioritize threats and opportunities to better prepare you for the unexpected
An ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System will help you to continually monitor and manage conditions across your organization. You’ll be less likely to be crippled in the wake of an unusual event and be more prepared all around.
