What is the webinar about?

The EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED) is evolving to include mandatory cybersecurity requirements. Starting 1 August 2025, manufacturers of internet-connected radio equipment will need to comply with these requirements to gain or maintain market access in the EU. The EN 18031 series of standard has recently been published to address these requirements. These webinars are designed to help companies worldwide understand the new requirements, the new standards, navigate the compliance process, and prepare their products for testing and certification.

What will participants gain?

Participants will leave the webinars with:

  • A clear understanding of the RED framework and the cybersecurity requirements coming in August 2025.
  • Insights into EN 18031-1 (Network Protection), EN 18031-2 (Data Protection), and EN 18031-3 (Fraud Prevention)
  • Guidance on the specific types of products requiring compliance, including IoT devices, consumer electronics, payment systems, and more.
  • An overview of BSI’s testing capabilities and their role in supporting manufacturers to achieve compliance.
  • A practical step-by-step checklist to prepare for compliance/access to BSI’s RED support resources.

Who should attend?

This webinar would be of interest to:

  • Product manufacturers of internet-connected devices, including IoT, consumer electronics, and industrial equipment.
  • Compliance managers, product designers, engineers, and quality assurance professionals.
