The Radio Equipment Directive (RED) is a European Union regulation that ensures radio equipment, including wireless devices and communication systems, meets essential safety, health, and electromagnetic compatibility standards. Implemented to promote market harmonization, it safeguards users and prevents interference with other equipment. The European Commission (EC) has recently strengthened the cybersecurity requirements of radio devices marketed in the EU through Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30, activating additional requirements under Articles 3(3)(d), (e), and (f). All radio devices and products marketed in the EU region will be required to comply with these RED Delegated Act regulations from August 1, 2025.
